Studies in preparation for the State Diploma in Podiatry comprise theoretical and clinical training over a three-year period:
LECTURES, TUTORIALS, PRACTICAL WORK:
Theoretical training comprises compulsory lectures, tutorials and practical work.
CLINICAL TRAINING: HOSPITAL INTERNSHIPS AND THE SCHOOL’S DISPENSARY:
Clinical training comprises hospital internships accredited by the Prefect of the PACA region. The internships may take place in all of Marseilles’ public hospital sites. Training in professional situations is also dispensed in the School’s dispensary (clinic) and in consultation situations (podiatric analyses and clinical examinations). An internship with a practitioner of the student’s choice (not counting for the final exam) is also mandatory.
NO ANCILLARY ACTIVITY POSSIBLE :
With the student’s presence at all training sessions being compulsory on a full-time basis, there is no possibility of undertaking any ancillary activities (1,785 hours in the first year, for example).
The student’s work is subject to continuous assessment in each subject and during clinical internships throughout each academic year. All of these assessments are taken into consideration for the student’s passage into the following year.
These assessments are strictly controlled for their educational quality by France’s health authorities and the French state.
